Vinyl Album
This project aimed to use photography, typography, and overall design to communicate a selected album's musical style and subject matter. It was required that the main medium of the creation of the album be photography with no limits on what the main subject of the photography was.
Chosen LP
The album I chose was "Operation: Mindcrime" by the heavy metal band Queensrÿche from 1988. "Operation: Mindcrime" is a conceptual rock opera telling the story of a drug addict and his struggles with how society and the government treat the less fortunate. The story has themes of mind control, murder, and the feeling of a "call" to action. It is a very sinister view of the world and comes to a tragic end as the main character loses everything he holds dear.
